Pre-Sales Engineer (SE)

JOB SUMMARY:
Working as a pooled resource, interacts with customer prospects in conjunction with eZee sales team members to demonstrate the capabilities of the eZee product suite. In addition to pre-scripted presentation(s), incumbent will frequently produce customized product demonstrations using live customer data. Each assignment will provide its own unique circumstances, challenges and opportunities based upon that prospect’s marketing objectives and infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work collaboratively with eZee sales team or partners to establish specific account plans and strategies.
  2. Analyze sales prospects’ requirements and propose a technical solution to meet those requirements.
  3. Create and deliver product demonstrations, presentations and/or prototypes which map features/benefits of eZee platforms to the specific needs of prospects, customers and partners.
  4. Provide on-going technical support to well-qualified prospects conducting evaluations. This may include training, programming of examples, third-party software integration, trouble-shooting, best-practices consulting.
  5. Deliver responses to the technical sections of RFI/RFPs these include but are not limited to: high level network architecture, internal and external security requirements, DB requirements, and resource requirements.
  6. Participate in the delivery of Proof of Concepts for eZee solutions.
  7. Provide product feedback from customers and propose solutions for improvement.
  8. Drive customer evidence through case studies and customer references.
  9. Assist in territory presentation and marketing events with product demonstration and product positioning.
  10. Communicate competitive intelligence from the field and look for opportunities to increase sales of software and services.
  11. Contribute to knowledge capital within eZee. Capture knowledge capital from each customer engagement. Proactively share own expertise.
  12. Submit status reports to management as required.
  13. Knowledge of product line, prices, delivery time, various marketing promotional services, and similar data, as required.
  14. This job will have occasional periods of domestic travel (10-15% total travel time).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs other allied duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:

  1. Experience and knowledge in one of the standard relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server. Some experience developing JavaScript, DHTML, BREW, and/or C/C++, J2EE with Internet software development (XML) is desired.
  2. Proven track record of interacting successfully with customers, including database implementation and application integration with an emphasis on Web services is required.
  3. Stand-up presentation and public speaking skills are required.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and get along well with others.

EDUCATION:

  1. The individual at this level will be expected to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (CIS degree preferred) followed by 3+ years of experience in a structured technical environment.

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience.
